Reissued by Tacchini in 2022, Le Mura by Mario Bellini is a project of inexhaustible strength, an answer to questions of aesthetics, proportions, and ergonomics, but also of social, ethical, and moral content—just as powerful today as it was yesterday. The armchair is one of the elements of the system that can theoretically be combined infinitely—like the large stones that made up Roman walls, from which the project takes its name—allowing it to fit into spaces of different sizes without ever losing its intense stylistic identity.
