Domingos Tótora

Domingos Tótora grew up in Maria da Fé, a small town in the Serra da Mantiqueira, Brazil. A self-taught artist, he founded his studio in 2005 and chose recycled cardboard as his main material for his works of art and design: vases, fruit bowls, and furniture pieces characterised by an extraordinary beauty inspired by the colours and textures of nature, such as bark, stone, and earth.

In his studio, he simultaneously develops prototypes and production, creating original and elegant works that have been recognised in numerous international exhibitions.

Domingos Tótora believes that the beauty of design lies in the creative process, an expression of a sustainable and deeply environmentally respectful philosophy.

His work, entirely handmade from recycled cardboard, goes beyond aesthetics to highlight the value of responsible and conscious design.
