Glass and mirror
Common glass is a material made purely of silica, like quartz. In its purest form, glass is transparent, with a smooth surface, relatively hard, and almost entirely inert from a chemical and biological point of view. The glass used in furniture comes in a wide range of finishes and colours, and its intrinsic fragility can be overcome with chemical treatments, adding other minerals to the mix, or with physical processes, such as tempering. Rear-painted glass is made by colouring the back of the pane: the resulting surface effect is extra glossy, but transparent around the edges. Care instructions: we recommend using a dry cloth to remove dust and marks.
